Local House Kitchen & Bar: Reviews & Ratings
I was heading home from the doctors and was really hungry and saw this place on my way home. I decided to stop in and try it. Holy moly this place is incredible. The staff is super friendly. The food was incredible. The smash burger is an absolute MUST. Best I’ve ever had. EVERYONE here is so attentive and great at making recommendations. The corn dip was also amazing but the smash burger stole the show. It’s also gorgeous inside. The bathrooms are immaculate.
After Kit Dwight and I finished our Medical Monday Doctor Appointments in Tinton Falls, we did a little shopping and and then stopped for Lunch at the newest restaurant at this location... Over the years, it was Gertrude Browns, then Charlie Brown's, next it was Moose's, it became the second location for Woody's and now the Local House Kitchen and Bar... Both of us started with a bowl of French Onion Soup... It was very delicious but it was in the smallest Crock we have ever seen. For the $9.00, it could of been in the larger Crocks that this Favorite Comfort food usually came in. Kit, chose to try the Chicago Hotdog with French fries. The hotdog was a Nathan's foot long on a challah bun, with pickles, relish, diced onions, peppers, yellow mustard and celery salt.. Her first bite came with a surprise, the peppers were whole jalapenos... Which unlike me, she doesn't like them because of the hotness. It might be a good idea to note that in the ingredients, so she could of had them removed. She pulled out a total of 7 between each bite and did enjoy the rest of it!!! I chose The House Clucker, a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles and a House Ranch Dressing on a very large Potato Roll... I found the chicken fried perfectly, moist and delicious!!! The French Fries were seasoned and tasty
When it was first learned that Woody's Tinton Falls location had been sold, I was apprehensive to see what changes would be made. There was definitely some concern that the new owners would come in and clean house, replacing longtime employees with their own staff and thus driving away the regulars. That being said, after about a month under new management, I'm glad to see that the changes that have been made are all positive. Having been in a few times since the transition, the new menu items I've tried (pretzel bites, the smash burger and the tavern burger) have all been good, and it's nice to see that the Aloha bowls are still on the menu (even if under a new name!). There have also been nice additions to the draft beer selection - with so many local breweries it's good to see a wider array of choices on tap. I'm also glad to see some good Happy Hour menu options added, which definitely seem worth checking out. Most importantly though has been seeing so many familiar employees in an industry known for having a high turnover rate. Part of what made Woody's stand out from some of the other nearby bars has always been the personalities of the bartenders & waitstaff. You can tell when employees work well together and have fun at their job, despite how busy/stressfull the shift may be going. Shannon was bartending when I stopped in the past week and, despite not working the last few times I had been at the bar, she still remembered my usual drink of choice. She always seems to have a good amount of regulars at the bar, as do all of the bartenders (which is always a good sign) and its nice to see that this hasn't changed. Definitely wishing the new owners luck and am curious to see what the next months bring.
I had lunch here for the first time today. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The service was impeccable. I ordered the Korean chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the short rib sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious. The manager even came over and chatted a bit with us. We will definitely be back here. Great place to hang out with friends and/or family. Love pubs like this.
Great food, friendly service, and amazing atmosphere! Manager Andrew is cheerful and helpful. Our server was a delight! Chef cooked us all amazing dishes. Looking forward to returning.
Very much enjoyed Local House. Was great having a manager greet us as we arrived and walk through the restaurant to ensure everything was fine. Great updated menu, with lots of choices. We loved the buffalo cauliflower and pretzel bites we had as appetizers; and the steak and blackened chicken tacos were excellent as was hubby's Korean chicken and mom's Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. Offers a broad cocktail and wine list. Excellent service by Brianna, the part-time manager/bartender (a woman of many talents) and Effie, our friendly and efficient server. Highly recommend for an enjoyable night out!
We had the best time at dinner. Doug was the best- attentive, friendly, & informative. He gave excellent recommendations based on our tastes and made our dining experience thoroughly enjoyable. We'll definitely be back.
I love this new restaurant! The menu was broad and everything that our party ordered was so good. Our waiter, Doug, was fantastic. He was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the food menu and their robust beer list. He even surprised my daughter with a fun drink. I highly recommend checking them out for a really good, casual, and enjoyable night out!
